Fired with enthusiasm
The ‘Apprentice’ challenge is by no means a standard team-building exercise. This exciting challenge ends with a full open review of each team’s performance. Just like the TV show that inspired it, our judges will decide who wins and who loses – or should that be, who gets “fired”.
Using vintage cars, have a fun “adventure in time”. Take a trip back to the days of medieval castles, ancient burial sites, monasteries, high crosses, re-created 19th century villages, folk parks and …even mythical Irish creatures. An exciting outdoor team activity with a difference.
Back to the Future
Crack the code
The DaVinci Code challenge will take your team through the historic and religious sites of your location of choice in The Shannon Region on your Quest for the Holy Grail. Based on the bestselling book and hit movie, this is a very unusual and fantastic event for any group.
Dragon’s Den – Irish Style takes its cue from the BBC hit show where your team becomes entrepreneurs for an afternoon. Your team’s challenge is to develop a business concept that will face the scrutiny of our experienced panel of local business leaders. Will your team’s project convince the judges to invest?
Enter the Dragon

Let’s Dance
An interactive session which introduces your team to Irish music and dance. It’s a crash course in Irish dance, song, bodhran, hand drums, spoons and side drums. An instructor then forms a group which would include using Irish musical percussion instruments to play and traditional dancing with some singing as well.
Take your team and a boat to meet the Shannon Dolphins, A unique Shannon Region experience. Ireland’s only resident group of bottlenose dolphins live in the Shannon Estuary. There are over 100 of these magnificent mammals and they can be observed, on most days, feeding, travelling or playing in the Shannon Estuary.

Stretching for 8 kilometres and standing 214 meters above the mighty Atlantic ocean, the awesome Cliffs of Moher are Ireland’s top scenic visitor attraction and an incredible experience. I am delighted to be a patron of The Shannon Region Conference & Sports Bureau. With 24 routes from all over the UK and Europe to Shannon, Ryanair is investing enormous resources in new aircraft and new routes to bring new visitors to Limerick and Shannon. I urge you to come see the spiritual home of Irish rugby….and the region with some of the best golf clubs, best pubs and best people in the world…
Michael O’Leary
Chief Executive of Ryanair
It is a great pleasure to endorse the efforts of the Shannon Region Conference & Sports Bureau in attracting international sports events to the region. I have been fortunate to avail of the world-class facilities and warm welcome in the area since 1997, and have seen them grow and improve greatly in this time. I would recommend them to any athlete looking for a base to work on and maintain peak performance.
Paula Radcliffe
World Champion and Olympian
We received countless comments about how much the attendees enjoyed their overall experience in Limerick and how welcoming and hospitable all of the locals were. We were truly grateful to have the chance to hold IEEE Conferences in Limerick and we will advocate for other groups we work with to bring their conferences to Limerick in the future.
