Lough Gur Development is a non-profit community organisation that was founded in 1969 and officially inaugurated in 1993 to promote, preserve and protect the history, archaeology, folklore and environment of the surrounding area.

Lough Gur is located in the South East of Ireland within the Ballyhoura region. Visitors enjoy the rural unspoilt beauty that is easily accessible 21km’s from Limerick City. The area of Lough Gur is part of Wild Atlantic Way Region, Munster Vales and is also an accredited Discover Primary Science and Maths Centre through Science Foundation Ireland.

Conference & event facilities:

The Honey Fitz Theatre can take up to 110 people (seated) The Heritage Centre can host up to 60 people, We could provide a conference table for this venue if requested.

Type of events: conferences, meetings, special events including theatre, drama, art classes, unique events.

In addition, nearby the Lough Gur Heritage Centre, lies a beautiful lakefront and plenty of attractions in the area, including the Stone Circle , Teampall Nua Church etc. Activities may vary from company conferences to workshops. Additionally, by springtime 2020, the new Solstice theme playground will be up and running.

There is now a core team of approximately 10 trained guides who can show you the most historical sites in the area and who will pass on their knowledge to you in a friendly and informative manner.
